This little beauty shows the lighter side of McLaren Vale shiraz.
Fruit from our East Block are thinned to 3 tonne/acre- this is fermented with a high proportion of whole berries. We also blend in a shiraz/fiano co-ferment component to bring some aromatic lift and freshness to the palate.
"Fermented largely as whole berries with 1% fiano skins; matured in seasoned French oak. Pitched as a Vale shiraz in a lighter zone, this is not lacking for intensity and darkly wrought spice. It is certainly lighter though, riding on red fruits and with a zing of freshness, a crispness, to close. There’s a touch of bergamot tea, sour cherry and plum through a finish of good length. 92 points"
