2023 EL BEYDA
2023 El Beyda and is primarily Grenache Blanc with small amounts of Grenache Gris, Clairette and Piquepoul.
The fruit is hand picked and spends a day in the press on skins. After which the juice is pressed into oak barrels for fermentation, where it stays on lees for six months prior to bottling.
Honey, citrus and white peach on the nose, with flavours of ripe lemons, mandarin and spiced nougat. The palate is medium bodied with soft acidity and a savoury texture.
"This wine has a bit extra, and a point of difference, and it’s so nicely turned out too. Apple, white nectarine, mint, chamomile, quince and citrus. It’s glossy and gently slippery, but has fine chalky grip, and freshness, with stone fruit, ground almond and a cooling mint character, and some citrus rind (lime I think) on a finish of excellent length. Delightful. 94 points"

"An excellent wine year in and year out. A very good value. Phenolics over obvious freshness, although no lack of either. Salted quince, oatmeal leesiness, straw, preserved lemons and ripe golden apples. 95 points"

"Honey, fresh apricot and lime, some floral notes, peach Danish pastry. A glycerol feel though threaded with pear skin grip, quite nutty and saline, juicy white fleshed fruits with a savoury edge. Finish is good too, and the traction of light skinsy texture is really appealing. 93 points"

"Touch of golden colour, very pretty, honeyed, orange-blossom aromas, lovely textural, grape-pulpy quality. Very satisfying drink. 17/20"
